Tools for Resiliency in Challenging Times is a practical, one-hour session for anyone looking for simple ways to manage stress and stay steady during tough times. Drawing on mindfulness and everyday strategies, this session offers a chance to pause, reflect, and try out a few tools you can use right away.

Participants will get a brief look at how stress affects the brain and how small shifts in awareness can help us respond, not just react. You’ll try out a short mindfulness exercise together, explore how to spot “one good thing” in daily life, and learn where to find extra support if you need it.

What people will learn:

  • A basic understanding of how stress works in the brain
  • A simple, short mindfulness practice (the STOP method)
  • How to notice small positive moments to balance stress
  • Where to find crisis and suicide support services and training

This session won’t solve everything, but it offers a small toolkit to help you get through difficult moments and remind you that support is always available.

Our Impact The topic and word "suicide" is not so scary after taking a training from the Crisis Centre of BC. I'm grateful to have been here today, and am hopeful that I can help people in the future. safeTALK participant, Agassiz
