Join the force of hope by elevating your impact through a Crisis Centre of BC Society membership

MEMBERSHIP

If you are dedicated to providing help and hope to individuals, organizations, and communities across the spectrum of crisis support, suicide prevention and postvention, we’d like to invite you to apply for membership. Together we are fostering compassionate, connected suicide-safer communities.

We are looking for people who are familiar with our work and mission. We deeply value the work of our volunteers and encourage you to continue your relationship with us through membership.

You are eligible for membership if:

  • You have been engaged with the Centre’s work for at least one year as a volunteer and have completed your initial commitment, or
  • You have a demonstrated history and commitment to crisis support, mental health, suicide prevention or postvention that aligns with the mission and vision of the Crisis Centre of BC.

Members in a non-profit organization show broad community support for its mission and vision.

Members have the right to attend and vote in the Annual General Meeting (normally scheduled for September of each year) and get a voice in the mission and direction of the Crisis Centre. Membership can be a route to committee or board positions at the Centre.

Membership in the Crisis Centre is free, and there is no obligation to become a donor.

Membership application is not a membership guarantee; all applications are reviewed for approval by our Board of Directors. Members should be familiar with the Centre’s Constitution and Bylaws.

Membership is annual, and an application must be submitted annually.

Our Impact The topic and word "suicide" is not so scary after taking a training from the Crisis Centre of BC. I'm grateful to have been here today, and am hopeful that I can help people in the future. safeTALK participant, Agassiz
