Steve Cowan Memorial Scholarship

The late Steve Cowan was a member of the Crisis Intervention and Suicide Prevention Centre of BC’s Board of Directors for six years and served as President from 2001 to 2003. Steve exemplified the Crisis Centre’s mission through his tireless work and dedication to helping people.

In tribute to his efforts, the Crisis Centre offers the Steve Cowan Memorial Scholarship as a means to encourage and promote the attainment of higher educational goals for individuals who have demonstrated a positive commitment to helping their community. The award is to recognize and support individuals who have made a positive contribution to their school and/or local or global community.

If you are a youth living on the Lower Mainland or in the Sea-to-Sky Corridor who has made a difference in your community, we want to hear from you.

Key Dates for 2011-12:

Entry Deadline – completed applications must be postmarked no later than Friday, February 24th, 2012 so as to be considered.
Award finalists will be selected and contacted by Friday, March 30th, 2012.
Award finalists will be interviewed the week of April 2nd – 6th, 2012.
The final award recipient will be announced on Friday, April 20th, 2012.
